First, let me say how proud I am to serve as your Mayor for a third term. Thank you for believing in the
vision and trusting me to continue leading our community. Because of your support, Broadview is growing
and thriving in the right direction.
Recently, a mailer was circulated in our community. I want to address its five points directly and with full
transparency:
- Police Officer Resignations
The mailer references the loss of officers after the election but fails to provide the facts. Here are
the circumstances:- One officer resigned after receiving discipline for an incident in the community.
- Another resigned to be closer to home and spend more time with family.
- A third resigned on May 2025, while pending a four-day suspension for excessive force.
- The fourth resigned in August 2025 due to personal reasons and was also named in an internal
investigation for multiple rule violations.
As Mayor, I Can assure you that under the leadership of Chief Mills, accountability is the standard for the
Broadview Police Department, consistent with the principles of 21st Century Policing.
